Smokey Eyes:)

A cool party look? A nice everyday school look? You can do that by making SMOKEY EYES! Grey, brown, black shiny make up works very nicely. Light colors look better with blue and green eyes and darker with brown eyes. Yes... You can outline the eyes but put the grey glitter with a puffy brush. It depends how dark you like it. Darker for party and lighter for everyday!;)

Beauty Battle: Kendall Jenner vs. Nina Ricci Runway

Romance and femininity have returned to the runways for spring 2012, proven by all the pretty pulled-back hairstyles we’ve been seeing! Catwalk-chic yet totally easy to recreate, this look has been spotted everywhere from the Sherry Hill show in New York (on none other than budding model Kendall Jenner!) to the Nina Ricci show in Paris.

In her runway modeling debut during NYFW, Kendall Jenner made a sensational impression with a sophisticated yet soft while her sisters cheered her on from the crowd. Her glamorous gown (it’d be a dream prom 2012 dress!) was perfectly complemented by the chic chignon, which was a change from her usual silky-straight locks. Kendall’s hairstyle is much easier to create than it seems at first glance, and thankfully, LA-based hair expert Paul Anthony from Jose Eber Salon gave us the how-to info.
“First, I divided her hair from ear to ear into two sections (front and back). I pulled the front section into a ponytail in order to separate it from the back, and then created three small braids in the back section of the hair,” he says. “Next, I divided up the front section by making a middle part, twirled the hair on each side towards the back, and connected each one to the braid on the opposite side. I tucked in the ends of the twirled sections and secured them with bobby pins to the sides. I finished by wrapping the middle braid around the other brains, creating a chignon.” Classic but still sweet and girly, we think this hairstyle would be great for homecoming.

Meanwhile, in the City of Light, Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau crafted a “very Parisian” ponytail at Nina Ricci that was inspired by screen legend Catherine Deneuve. He swears it’s a hairstyle all women would love to wear, and we agree! To get the look, he started by applying Velvet Gelatine 07 Cushioning Blow-Dry Gel to hair and blow-drying it with a round brush for volume. “Then, I brushed the hair away from the crown of the head. Once it was totally dry, I spread a small amount of All Soft Argan-6 Multi-Care Oil throughout the hair for smoothness. I pulled the hair back into a low ponytail, securing it with an elastic and keeping the hair parted in the center,” he says. “I wrapped a small piece of hair from the ponytail around the elastic, covering it completely. After spritzing Spray Starch all over the ponytail, I curled the ends with a 1” curling iron and finished with Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray for hold.” Voila! A ladylike but touchable look that’s ideal for any special occasion.

Make Your Hair Color Three-Dimensional!

wella-3d-hair.jpg

Everyone who colors their hair, listen up! I have been dying my hair for years, so I know the whole song-and-dance routine surrounding the coloring process and thought I’d seen and tried everything. Then I was given the opportunity to test out the Wella Professionals 3D Color Effects Salon Service at the Serge Normant Salon with Wella Color Ambassador Aura Friedman. My hair had been looking particularly dull and lifeless, so when Aura told me that the service would not only boost my color but also add definition and deepness to my sullen-looking locks, I was ready to try it out!

The service consists of the hair being sectioned off and layered with similar, graduated colors that go from dark to light. By incorporating this subtle depth of color, the darker layers of hair make the lighter parts look more defined. Yet these different hues seamlessly blend together too, creating a 3D effect that looks surprisingly natural. So though my new color is similar to my regular shade, it looks a lot better: There is a noticeable difference in the richness of the hues in my hair, which makes it look completely transformed. As I get ready to head into a new school year, I'm excited to debut my revamped hair!

Beuty Crisis- How to Conceal Redness

Having sensitive skin can make using mainstream
products difficult, but there are some very effective regimens, made for
your type of skin!

Sensitive skin tends to be thin and delicate with fine pores. "It usually reacts quickly to
temperature changes from the cold or wind. Such skin requires extra gentle
care along with the use of mild products especially formulated to help calm and soothe
skin," says David Bank, MD, a dermatologist in Mt. Kisco, NY. Bank recommends applying a small amount of Afrin decongestant nose spray or Visine on a cotton ball to the reddened area. "[These products] constrict the tiny blood vessels an will get the red out
within 30-60 seconds, and lasts up to 12 hours!" Bank also suggests using a
cleanser like Cetaphil, or a prescription cleanser like Ovace face wash (highly effective in treating acne and acne rosacea). Just remember that even if you're skin is prone to acne, you still need to exfoliate at least once a week. Instead of using washcloths and harsh exfoliating
scrubs, try using products that have salicylic acid in them. If your skin is still red, Bank recommends going to see your dermatologist for a fruit acid peel or mild microdermabrasion.

"To cover up the redness without breaking out more, I suggest using a good
corrective concealer that is labeled for oily or acne prone skin," suggests
Neal
Schultz
, MD, founder of
DermTV.com. "To help cover the redness, use
concealers with a yellow or green tint which immediately erases the red
without needing to be applied heavily," suggests Schultz. When washing your
face, Schultz recommends a two-part process, "use an acne cleanser labeled
for sensitive skin, which won't remove all the oil, but will avoid
irritation, and then follow it with an alcohol free toner which removes the
rest of the oil, without [any] irritation."

"A general rule [for sensitive skin] would be 'less is more'," say
Kathy
Fields
and Katie Rodan, co-creators of Proactiv. "Be gentle with your skin
and avoid factors that trigger reactions, such as heat, sunlight and certain
skincare and food products." Fields and Rodan recommend using products that
include soothing ingredients, such as their Proactiv Green Tea moisturizer.
After applying your moisturizer, Fields and Rodan suggest using "a mineral
makeup foundation or concealer. Mineral makeup is proven to be effective on
sensitive skin and isn't too heavy or drying."
